Product Disclaimer and Care Instructions – For Apparels
At House of Alkara, we pride ourselves on using labor-intensive techniques to create our handcrafted apparel and accessories, guaranteed to capture your attention. Each piece, from meticulous pigment artwork to acid painting or printing on textiles, is based on original artwork and stands as a testament to the artisan’s labor of love, reflecting their dedication and skill. The human touch in crafting these items results in tiny variations, making each product uniquely authentic with its own character and charm.
We are an environmentally friendly brand and use natural colors for all our products. Therefore, slight color bleeding might occur, but it can be managed without spoiling the product.
Disclaimer
- The handmade techniques we use can lead to slight variations in color, print, and motifs. Fabric may rub dry or bleed color when it first contacts water. As all products are handmade, such variations are expected.
- Wash care instructions are available on our website and under each product description. It is important to follow these instructions carefully.
- We use hand-sourced premium fabrics for all our garments. The hand painting, acid painting, and other techniques used to create the designs are done by our skilled artisans, which may result in slight variations in each batch of print and each roll of fabric.
- The colors you see on our website may vary slightly depending on the accuracy of your monitor. Subtle variations should be expected.
- Slight differences in color from the visible product image are possible. Sometimes, a camera or computer monitor can’t match the perspective of the human eye. Such differences are unavoidable.
- All photographs are for representational purposes and are taken to closely resemble the original product. However, slight color variations from the actual product may occur.
- Each garment’s fit depends on its cut, fabric, and styling, with some being fitted and others more relaxed. Our sizing guide will help you choose the best fit. As most of our apparel features hand-painted artwork, the positioning may differ from the picture.
- Please do not spray deodorant, mist, or perfume directly on the dress, especially for gold and silver prints.
Wash Care Instructions
- Silk and silk blend fabrics must be dry cleaned only.
- For non-silk fabric – Hand wash with mild detergent. Dry cleaning is ideal.
- Do not put them in a washing machine or dryer.
- Water is precious. Wash garments only when necessary. Airing them after each use will keep them fresh for a couple of uses.
- Do not soak any garment or wash with another garment. Dry inside out in the shade.
- Be careful when applying fragrances to handmade clothes, as the ingredients may cause the clothes to lose print or stain. It’s best to spray lightly into the air in front of you and walk into the spritz.
Step-by-Step Guide to Washing Garments (Dry-cleaning is recommended)
Sorting: Sort clothes by color. Wash only similar-colored garments together.
Soaking: Put a small quantity of mild detergent in a half-filled bucket of cold water. Soak the garment in the soapy solution for five minutes. Do not soak for a longer duration. Pre-soaked garments must be washed immediately.
Rinsing: Rub soiled areas gently by hand. Do not use a solid bar of soap or a brush. Rinse the garment a few times in cold water to remove the detergent completely.
Drying: Garments should be laid flat or hung straight to dry on rust-proof hangers (either plastic or wooden).
Ironing: Do not iron directly on pigment painting fabric, embroidery, etc. Turn such clothes inside out and iron lightly or use steam iron.
Storage: Store garments in a cool, dry place protected from sunlight. Keep whites and light-colored garments away from darker-colored ones. Use aromatic sachets to dispel cupboard odors.
Silk and Silk Blends: Silk and silk blend fabrics must be dry cleaned only. Store carefully in cloth covers with a few scented sachets.
